Our fees vary depending on the type of service and the therapist you see. Current fee information is available on our individual service pages. We are committed to transparency in our fee structure, and your therapist will discuss fees with you before your first session.
Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists (RP) and Registered Social Workers (RSW). We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage. We provide receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that Co & Associates does not bill insurance companies directly; payment is collected at the time of service.

We accept credit cards and other electronic payment methods through our secure client portal. Payment is collected at the time of your session.
We have a 48-hour and 24-hour cancellation policy that therapists administer at their discretion.
Cancellations within 48 hours of a scheduled appointment will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be charged the full session fee. If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours due to illness, a fee of $75 per session may apply.
Your First Session
Your first session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know each other. Your therapist will ask about what brings you to therapy, your background, and your goals for counselling. This initial session helps your therapist understand your needs and begin developing a plan that is tailored to you. You are welcome to ask questions about the therapeutic process, your therapist's approach, and anything else that would help you feel comfortable.
A standard therapy session is 50 minutes. Some services, such as couples and family counselling or neurofeedback sessions, may be scheduled for longer durations. Your therapist will discuss session length with you based on your specific needs.
The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on your goals, the nature of your concerns, and how you respond to therapy. Some clients find that a few sessions are helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support. Your therapist will work with you to regularly review your progress and adjust the plan as needed.
We encourage you to review the profiles on our Our Team page to learn about each therapist's background, areas of focus, and therapeutic approach. Finding the right fit is important, and we are happy to help you select a therapist who aligns with your needs. If you are unsure, contact us and we can help guide you.
Therapy & Counselling
A Registered Psychotherapist (RP) is regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and is trained in the practice of psychotherapy. A Registered Social Worker (RSW) is regulated by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and may provide psychotherapy as part of their scope of practice. Both designations require adherence to professional standards, ongoing education, and accountability to their respective regulatory colleges.
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive approach that uses real-time monitoring of brain activity to support self-regulation. During a session, sensors are placed on the scalp to measure brainwave patterns, and the information is presented back to the client through visual or auditory feedback. Over time, this process may support the brain's natural capacity for self-regulation. Neurofeedback is offered at Co & Associates as a standalone service or in combination with therapy.
Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship and is protected by law under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) in Ontario. Your personal health information will not be shared without your consent, except in limited circumstances required or permitted by law, such as when there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or when disclosure is required by a court order. Your therapist will explain the limits of confidentiality during your first session.
Absolutely. The therapeutic relationship is an important part of the process, and it is normal to want to find the right fit. If you feel that your current therapist is not the right match, please let us know and we will help you transition to another member of our team.
Children & Youth
We work with children and youth of various ages. The approach and techniques used are adapted to be developmentally appropriate for each child. If you are unsure whether therapy is suitable for your child, please contact us to discuss your situation.
Parental involvement varies depending on the child's age, the nature of the concerns, and the therapeutic approach. For younger children, parents are often more actively involved. For adolescents, the therapist may work primarily with the youth while keeping parents informed as appropriate. Your therapist will discuss the level of parental involvement that is recommended for your family's situation.
We generally recommend that children be told they are coming to see someone who helps kids and families with feelings and challenges. Your therapist can provide guidance on how to introduce the idea of therapy to your child in a way that feels comfortable and age-appropriate.
